It’s that time of year again! And this time Team Sherwen assembled to test our wits and skills in the world’s largest escape game – Shrewsbury Prison

Before exploring the prison facilities, we donned our orange jumpsuits and ID cards prior to being escorted to the main wing and being placed into our prison cells.

Within the four-acre grounds of Shrewsbury Prison, we were tasked with a set of challenges and puzzles to overcome with the help of hidden clues and our fellow long-serving inmates.

We were required to complete Kitchen, Education, Fitness and Health assessments to collect key clues and insight to escape our confines.

It was an enlightening experience as we were compelled to comply with some bizarre requests from prison officers and inmates (nothing inappropriate, don’t worry!).

During the two and a half hours of being fully immersed in a prison break, it became an exhilarating race to the finish line for the more competitive inmates in the group! With Mark and Dan making their great escape first.

Once we’d left the prison, we enjoyed a few drinks in the Shrewsbury sun before heading back to Chester HQ to sample the delicacies of Chester Market and some of the local bars!

The Sherwen Studios team would like to extend our gratitude to Cerys, Emily, and Matt for arranging a day out behind bars!
